She has a fondness for old stories and legends and usually asks her few guest to share their stories with her.ĭuring the pyrite speculation incident, Holo and Lawrence independently seek Dian for information about Yoitsu, Holo's birthplace, and in order to purchase pyrite as part of a dramatic scheme to best Fermi Amati. Dian asks Lawrence to call her Dianna as a gesture of friendship. Given her solitary nature and masculine name, Dian is often mistaken to be male, an assumption that Lawrence also makes to his embarrassment when he first meets her. She almost always has a smile on her face. Her clean appearance somewhat clashes with the dim, messy home that she keeps. I hardly think there's a 15 or 16 year old around who hasn't seen those in a whole different kind of "manga" somewhere.Dian is an attractive woman with long black hair, pale skin and blue eyes. I think they would be better served reading the manga, which leaves a lot of the deeper stuff by the wayside imo. I do think some (not all) of the younger people may have some difficulties grasping the full depth of what goes on between the lines between Holo and Lawrence simply because they don't have had certain life experiences yet. I think I remember having read something about that in an interview at some time but don't pin me down on that. I mean, you rarely come across a LN series about a mature, 25 year old character dealing with subjects like economics and the psychological depth of the characters and how they relate suggests that Isuna Hasekura had a slightly older demographic in mind when he wrote it. Manga is usually geared towards a different demografic than LN to begin with but with regards to Spice & Wolf it would seem the LN were supposed to appeal to an older audience than LN generally are or at least it turns out the series does appeal to an older audience (mid- to late 20's) more than the younger demographic. This is a Reddit rule and is just common sense. Do no mention pirated material, do not link it. When using spoiler tags, instead of writing "spoiler title" write the number of the volume of the manga or light novel, then the number of the chapter, or the number of the anime episode and its season. To use the spoiler tag type the following (/s "Spoiler goes here.") Any of the above may result in an instant ban, at the discretion of the moderators.įurther information and reasoning behind these rules can be found here.
